Minutes of March 1996 Populace Meeting

March 27, 1996

Daryl, our almost new Seneschal, got the meeting off on good time.

A & S report: The Scriptorums on the first and third Wednesdays seem to be trundling along, though this is only hearsay; she hasn't had a chance to get to one. Dance practice the 18th will be at 8:30, the room being unavailable earlier.

Chronicler's report: Not a thing, as she has only resumed the post.

Deputy Chronicler's report: Web site for Students for the SCA seems to be doing well. That's http://www.virginia.edu/~isenfir/calendar.html, if I didn't misplace a slash or a . .

Exchequer's report: About the same, but we'll be broke sometime, mark his word.

Herald reported on the persona workshop she held sometime in the distant past. A good half-dozen folk turned out, and it went well. She would also like anyone with any sort of honor (AOA, Laurel, Pelican etc.) to tell her so she can prepare a list. She also recommends the article on heralding in the Summer, '95 TI.

Rapier Marshall's report: Practice moved to noon at the Triangle or 1:00 at the Library if the weather is bad. No practice the 7th, and likely no practice the following weekend. Last weekend in April is a big practice. And----Defender of the Innocents Tourney the 28th in the Triangle at None. (Noon, folks.) And---Michael will soon be Deputy Rapier Marshall. Contact Leofric for more info.

No Chatelaine's report. She wasn't there.

In the various and sundry department: Lunches on Thursday seem to be well attended. For further info contact Peter or Tilly. There is a cub scout do at Ridgeview park in Waynesboro the 13th, that has a Crusades theme--we think. They've asked if we would provide local color. If you're interested, contact Peter. And Easter Weekend siguals a milestone--leaguestone?--of sorts for Isenfir: The Shire will be old enough to drink. Not many of its constituent members, but the Shire.

Zoe reminds us the Collegium Musicum performance is the 25th of April in the Chapel. She thinks it's about 7:00. Contact her for more info.

We're having a baby shower for Eowin the 30th of April at Ciceila's about an hour after Vespers (7:00). Directions: Take 29 North. Turn left at Hydralic Road. The first street past the stop light, which is Commonwealth, is Turtle Creek. Turn right, then turn right again almost immediately. It's about the third unit on the right, 104, and Monica's is up one flight, Number 8.

The Event of the Month for April is, you guessed it, Coronation.

May 5th Dosso and I are hosting a combined SCA Potluck and Revel and a celebration of our 40 years together. See flyer for details.

I found a copy of the long lost book list, in one of my notebooks, so Bryan will get the books, before the demo in Fluvanna, we hope. (He did.)
